Hey, I’m Erin!
I am an NIP registered psychologist with a master’s degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from Leiden University. Currently, I work as a freelance psychologist, and I would love the opportunity to support you on your journey! Here is a little more about me and my personal and professional journey:
Originally from South Africa, I moved to the Netherlands 5 years ago to study psychology at the University of Amsterdam. During my bachelor’s, I specialised in both Clinical Psychology and Brain & Cognition, which deepened my interest in the intersection of mental health and neuroscience. This passion led me to the perfect master’s program—one that combined my interest in clinical practice with a desire to understand the biological mechanisms behind human behavior. In the last few years, I have gained experience working with clients both in person and online, primarily young adults and students. The privilege of working with my own clients really affirmed that I am exactly where I’m meant to be!
I take an evidence based and client-focused approach to my sessions, but I also believe that my personal experiences are part of what makes me a good psychologist. As a non-EU expat, I understand the emotional and practical challenges that come with moving to a new country. Additionally, as a woman with ADHD, I’ve spent years learning to navigate my own symptoms and develop effective strategies. These experiences have given me unique insight into the struggles my clients face, whether it’s anxiety, life transitions, ADHD, relationship challenges, self-esteem, or stress.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about nature and music—I even wrote my master’s thesis on the role of music in motor learning!
I currently offer online sessions in English, my native language, with plans to expand to in-person sessions in the future. I’m excited to get to know you and help you work on making your goals a reality!
